Music is clearly a source of therapeutic release. Musicians write sad songs to get through particularly rough times in life, and fans turn to those tracks to get over numerous situations. A song can heighten a happy moment, but think back to a memory that was particularly sad or gut wrenching - the soundtrack is usually quite clear. Sometimes life is just sad or shitty, and it helps to put on some sad song and let someone else's voice and words describe the things you feel...

Nautical naughtiness is afoot.
Pardon the French, but Worrier has their shit together for only being around roughly one year. Experience is passé between the three men, as each probably has their fair share of war stories from their previous gigs. Members C.C. Roland, Scott Anderson and Geerome O’Callohan had all previously been in bands before joining forces to make the super-group Worrier. Their beginnings are actually quite a cute tale...

I’d probably call someone a liar if they told me they hated Franz Ferdinand. I don’t think they are a completely likable band by everyone (like The Beatles), but they have never done anything entirely annoying or unlikable (like Canada). They certainly are talented – enough to win The Mercury Prize in 2004, and played a part in bringing what most people call “indie pop” to the forefront...

Fall is officially here. I've broken out my sweater weather clothing, I'm drinking hot instead of iced coffee and I'm actually feeling a shiver while waiting for the bus. Summer in Chicago is a glorious thing - full of lazy days at the beach and sunburned weekends spent listening to live music outdoors; but I have a soft spot for the city in the fall...
