New music from Sun Kil Moon, M83 and Jaime Lidell.

Sun Kil Moon – Moorestown - Forget emo – Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelek (formerly the Red House Painters) writes the most desolate, confessional songs of anyone you'll ever hear. Armed with guitars, violins, drums and a brooding, melancholy voice comparable to Jose Gonzalez, Kozelek crafts a melodic, but somber tune filled with longing and regret. While it's not quite on par with Ghosts of the Great Highway, Sun Kil Moon still has a knack for creating a very particular kind of sad, contemplative folk song...

Chavez, Bellini and The Red Elvises deliver some obscurity.

Obscurity for obscurity’s sake is completely pointless (annoying, even). However, discovering obscured greatness is one of the most enjoyable aspects of listening to and finding out about different kinds of music. The Black Keys, Ladytron and South deliver new music.

The Black Keys – Strange Times - There are a lot of trivial things I could write about the Black Keys and their new single - like how the duo is constantly compared to the White Stripes, or the fact that Danger Mouse produced their new album. But the only thing that matters is the fact that this song has a killer riff. And if you even remotely enjoy anything that could be conceived as "bluesy," you should definitely check it out.

Attack & Release is out now on Nonesuch...
