Girls Are Rad: Christy&Emily
Get a little superstitious this fall with Christy&Emily's new release.
Well, folks, it’s fall. And if you’re anything like me, you’d like to turn down the dance music and curl up with some experimental psych-folk. Good news: Christy&Emily seem like they could visit you in a psychedelic autumnal dream - that one dream where you’re wandering through a dark forest, and they sneak up on you from behind with their stringed instruments and murderous animal friends and whatnot...

New Music From Drummer
Drummer makes us 'Feel Good Together.'
A band comprised entirely of drummers you say? Brings to mind that smartly dressed high school drum corp. you snickered at during Homecoming games. They might have seemed geeky at the time, but hot damn most of your favorite bands were all geeks and outcasts. Painful teenage memories aside, Akron, Ohio's Drummer have crafted a snappy set of songs ala Built To Spill and Silkworm.
It's hard to think of drummers going solo and making good. There's Ringo of course, and The Replacement's Chris Mars come to mind. I'll even give you Peter Criss from Kiss. C'mon, "Beth" is the "make-out song" of all time! Drummer is made up of drummers from a stable of Akron's cream of the crop indie bands, including The Black Keys' Pat Carney, who plays bass.
The title track from debut Feel Good Together is a wispy little number, accented with some fine Farfisa organ and strolling guitar crunch. Drummer are sure to keep your foot tapping along to the parade march.

Nice to Meet You: Solar Powered People
If solar powered people were real, would they sound like this? We hope so.
Solar Powered People came forth from sunny California, emerging from a previous band Apollo Trigger. Some run of the risk of becoming too much like their past experiences, but Solar Powered People escape this by adding a warm, almost intimate layer to their music...
