Bob Dylan to Release New Album

Can we just give him another Grammy now?

Bob Dylan is releasing a new record.  That should be all that you need to know.  I mean.  It's Dylan.  You're going to listen to it.  You're going to talk about it.  You're going to love it.  Or, at least you are if you want to ever talk to me again.  I do not have time for any of you people who insist he's "lost his edge" or any of that crap.  Don't screw with Dylan, I won't screw with you.

In typical Dylan style, there are almost no specifics about the album yet, not even an album name or cover image.  In a press release, the ten-song album is slated to be released in "late April."  David Fricke of Rolling Stone says that it has a "seductive border-cafe feel," and that there's an accordion on every track.  A sample lyric that's been floating around, "I'm listening to Billy Joe Shaver / And I'm reading James Joyce / Some people tell me I got the blood of the land in my voice" proves that, yes, this will be another "Dylan" record.

Hey, why mess with success?  If 2006's Modern Times is any indicator, the Freewheeler is back on his game and I'm just plain excited to hear what's next.

The Winter-Be-Gone Mixtape

Seriously - it's March, so cut the shit.

If you are one of the many people stuck in a land of endless snow and countless days of below freezing temperatures, then you’re probably ready for winter to be over. I’ll agree that I love the first snow of the year, but that crap was only cute back in December. It’s finally March, and for many, myself included, sunlight and spring would be wonderful...

Make Way for the S-O-V

Lady Sovereign readies us for upcoming album with new single.

Looks like Lady Sovereign popped out a new single in early February that I almost missed. The biggest midget in the game’s recent release, "So Human," is a bit more poppy than the usual Lady Sovereign that the world is used to - which is a mixture of good and bad. The song is very catchy, but I’d prefer when Lady Sovereign spits her fiery flame in past songs such as “Sad Ass Striper” or “Tango...

"Do You Realize" You're a Prick?

Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne calls out The Arcade Fire

HeaveMedia actually has a secret agenda: We will only consider ourselves successful when we are able to set up golden-belt boxing matches between uber-indie rock stars and reap the benefits and live the glorious life of nerd-rock fighting promoters.

It won't be long, it seems, if Wayne Coyne (of The Flaming Lips) keeps at his current clip.  He royally let loose on The Arcade Fire during a Rolling Stone interview recently, referring to them as pompous, saying they treat everyone around them like shit, and giving them an overall morality ass-kicking.  Our favorite quote, "They're pricks, so fuck 'em."

This isn't the first time, either.  In the past he's laid into Beck, The Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Razorlight, and Duffy.  Either he's completely off his rocker or the only one who really gives a damn and is willing to say something in music.

Wayne Coyne vs. Win Butler?  I'm picturing that scene in The Wrestler involving the staple gun.  I'll set this up and we can let them duke it out in my backyard if Emily Haines plays Marisa Tomei's part.
