The Cool Kids Release Gone Fishing
The Cool Kids new mixtape has collaboration with Don Cannon.
The Cool Kids are finally back with their newest mixtape called Gone Fishing after releasing The Bake Sale so many moons ago. The mixtape is available for download at the Cool Kids website and is brought to us via Don Cannon and the Cool Kids studio Cake Recordings.
With 21 tracks for free from this braggalicious Chicago duo, this release is a must download for all those that remotely enjoy hip-hop. Highlights of the tape include “Jump Rope” which features female artist Tennille, a new “Pennies” remix with Bun B and Ludacris to add a little bit of the south to the track launched last year - and the opening track’s slow spazzy beat entitled “Hammer Bros” brings beauty to my ears. “Pennies” was also the feature opening menu song for the video game NBA 2K9 to add to the Kids’ repertoire.
The combination of sick old school infused beats with Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks lyrically flow never lacks feeling fresh within an industry that is constantly accused of producing tired, repetitive tracks. Hopefully Don Cannon’s voiceovers don’t get to obtrusive for listeners and keep them from enjoying this quality release.
Quoted word for word from Chuck on the Cool Kids’ blog, “Our goal is to make people move… for you to hear our music and see it… and know what u heard..was exactly what we felt… dont want people think to themselves… ive heard that before….” (sic)
The Kids have also announced a Fish Ride Bicycles LP, a free CD /USB jump drive release for Gone Fishing and collectors fitted caps and T’s for the mixtape.
Go download that shit now and prepare for maximum head noddage.
