We've Got You Covered: Bonnie Prince Billy and 'Puff The Magic Dragon'

Bonnie Prince Billy adds his own flavor to the childhood hit.

You probably had a pretty awful childhood if your favorite childhood song wasn’t “Puff The Magic Dragon.”  Really, there was absolutely nothing wrong with Peter, Paul and Mary’s amazing tale.  The song was actually written Leonard Lipton, one of Peter Yarrow’s (of Peter, Paul and Mary) roommates while they were attending Cornell University.  Lipton used Peter’s typewriter to get the poem out of his head, and left the poem sitting in the typewriter for Peter to discover. The song was turned into a television special, and featured two sequels. Burgess Meredith voiced Puff in all three specials.

None of that info has anything to do with Bonnie Prince Billy, but you can wow your friends at the next party you attend the “Puff The Magic Dragon” becomes a topic of conversation.

Have a listen to “Puff The Magic Dragon” below.
