We've Got You Covered: Ruby Isle and Animal Collective
Ruby Isle covers lots of songs, and HEAVE gives you their version of 'My Girls' by Animal Collective.
Ruby Isle is Mark Mallman, Dan Geller (co-founder of Kindercore Records) and Aaron Lemay. Ruby Isle had the idea to start covering the #1 song on indie blog aggregator elbo.ws in late 2007, and included all of the covers on the first pressing of their album Night Shot.
The project died shortly after, but was restarted in January 2009. This time around, Ruby Isle started making videos and posting them on Youtube to accompany their covers. You can search Ruby Isle’s catalog on Youtube, and listen to their cover of “My Girls” by Animal Collective below.
