Ruby Weapon takes on Grizzly Bear's 'Two Weeks' and makes it sound even more melodic.
Excuse me for sounding like a complete dork, and I swear I didn’t know this before I did a Google search, but Ruby Weapon takes his (or their) name from the video game “Final Fantasy VII.” Apparently the Ruby Weapon was a weapon in the game. So, the more you know.
I said his (or their) earlier because, well, no one really knows where Ruby Weapon’s cover of “Two Weeks” came from. It randomly appeared on Youtube as the soundtrack for a slideshow of a party. It was so good that people started to investigate. The investigation led to a hidden cache of Animal Collective/Panda Bear covers. Other than that – Nobody knows anything about Ruby Weapon. You’ll be able to gather, however, that they do pretty awesome covers. Listen to “Two Weeks” below.
