New Music From Wale
'Attention Deficit' by Wale set for October 20th release.
Things have not been right for Harlem’s own Charles Hamilton for a while now. Between beef with Wale, getting punched in the face for the entire Internet to see by his girl and beef with Soulja Boy has left the 21-year-old without a record label. Well, it’s not official, but pretty confirmed from many sources, including the leak of his should-have-been first album This Perfect Life. No worries, it’s really pretty similar to most of his mixtapes. However, if you are still interested, you can find it here. Sure it’s not bad, but it’s not too moving either. The mixtape is classic Hamilton. Eleven tracks of Sega sampling, and a fair amount of whining - let’s just say Charles has grown old with us. Hopefully being dropped from Interscope will be a good thing for his music career and he can reinvent his style for whatever (and whenever) we hear from him next.
But let us discuss a rapper whose been grouped with Charles and Kid Cudi as up and coming rappers. Let’s talk Washington DC’s Wale for a second.
Wale has been doing some work - with his Seinfeld mixtape, Lady Gaga single and Back to the Feature mixtape. A full release comes soon, though, as we finally have album art for Attention Deficit to feast our eyes on. Wale’s freshman album is scheduled to release October 20th with no (more) delays expected, but wait until the 20th just in case. That being said, we have some new music that may or may not be on the album since we don’t have an official track listing yet. The track is entitled “World Tour,” and features a nice hook up with Jazmine Sullivan. Oh, and it’s produced by Cool and Dre, so that’s always a plus. We are ready for a few more leaks like this before Wale drops his freshman album. Oh, and sorry Charles, I guess your first album will have to wait a bit longer.
