Kanye, The VMAs and Happy Birthdays

Something must be in the water for hip-hop artists.

Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, what have you done? We’ve all watched the VMAs video of Kanye’s outbreak over and over again - it’s been watched plenty by America. Nobody likes to see a cute 19-year-old country singer get her feelings hurt. Thankfully Beyonce gave Taylor Swift her moment (after winning best video for the year) to thank the fans. If you have missed the aftermath, Kanye apologized on Jay Leno (and his blog, too, hope you didn’t miss that). Taylor also expressed her thought process on The View and apparently the two have made amends since the VMAs. But that doesn’t mean Kanye was just being stupid and disrespectful, but at least there is another person that category.

Nope, there’s another crazy at the VMAs - Lil’ Mama. Apparently she was feeling caught up in the moment of everything Jay-Z and Alicia Keys had going from the city of New York, but bum rushing the stage at the end and posing after the two’s performance of ‘Empire State of Mind’ on Hova’s new album. Honestly were there chemicals in the air to bring these two out or was it just the alcohol? Jay-Z and Alicia did the right thing in response to Lil’ Mama. Ignored her. Well played, well played. At least there was some good news in the past few.

We’d like to wish a happy birthday to Nas! Nas turned 36 last Monday, September 14^th. We’re sure one of the greatest rappers of all time celebrated in style. In other news, the gravy train of hip-hop albums continues with Kid Cudi’s freshman album dropping this week. Be sure to pick that one up and play it in your car/at home/while you sleep.
