Raekwon Releases 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Vol 2

Raekwon a favorite for album of the year.

Any week where two albums are dropping that will be contenders for hip-hop album of the year is automatically a good week. This week’s releases bring us a little bit of Wu-Tang, with Raekwon dropping a sequel to a classic, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Vol. 2. Since Jay is waiting to release The Blueprint 3 on Friday, the date of the anniversary of the original Blueprint, Raekwon gets the first stab at the world’s wallets. So far, the feedback on Raekwon’s album has been nothing less than perfection.

iTunes users are already giving the album plenty of love with an average rating of five out of five stars among 156 votes. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Vol. 2 is littered with tracks - 23 songs in total. And you can be sure that there are plenty of Wu members to help push Raekwon’s work. Ghostface Killah is on six tracks, hot damn! Ghostface is trying to steal the show! That’s not to say that the GZA, Inspectah Deck, Method Man and Masta Killa don’t lend a hand is some verses either. Overall, there is a ton of content to make your $10 more than worth it.

The song we’ve decided to share with you feels all Wu-Tang, with the kung fu intro and the Inspectah and RZA present to add to the track. A very chill track - simple and plain. Will Raekwon’s album be able to content with Jay-Z’s and Cudi’s that will be releasing within a week? Time will tell, but until then let us leave you with a lead into “Black Mozart” before you listen: “Stupid fool, you’re forcing me to kill you!”
