LL Cool J Samples Michael Jackson
Jackson came to LL Cool J in a dream - so LL writes about it.
Ladies love Michael Jackson - well his music at least. However, it’s a fact the Ladies Love Cool James, because that’s LL Cool J’s name, but I’m sure it is truthful to say that there must be some ladies that actually DO love LL (hint: his wife). Anyway, what’s the point of this jibber jabber? Apparently the deceased visited Mr. Cool J in his slumber. Sounds ape-shit insane.
What LL addresses at the end of this track is the fact that Michael wrote him this very song, entitled “Billie Jean Dream” one night. LL simply woke up wrote it all down, and to the studio he went. The song samples “Billie Jean” extra heavy, which doesn’t involved too much guesswork to solve prior to listening. The track is filled with Michael references and LL uses a super repetitious flow that goes well with the sampling. All in all the track is short, but it’s hard not to like anything that involves “Billie Jean.” A little after the two-minute mark, LL breaks down explaining the prose of the recording.
If you’re wondering more about LL Cool J, that dude is 41 at this point! Crazy! LL got his start with his debut album Radio went platinum in 1985. After that LL…wait, wait what’s happening? You can look at this all on Wikipedia if you really want to know some biography or buy this for some workout tips. Instead, cue the puma and tiger dresses, please. Damn, LL way to break it to your girl! I guess he’s only in it for the booty, eh?
