Islands gives us 'No You Don't' - Vapors out in September.
Nick Diamond's post-Unicorns project demands one to be in a certain vibe. The simplicity could be looked over, the droning subtlety could take some patience, but the sugary melodies are definitely a thing to praise. Further listening reveals a sound that's surprisingly great for outdoor BBQ'ing?
The nerdy juxtaposition with Unicorns is evident in Islands' latest single from their forthcoming Vapors. Fellow songwriter Jamie Thompson has also returned from his self-imposed anti-rock star exile to help Diamond craft their signature bedroom sound. "No You Don't" runs the gamut between a soundtrack to a hidden level in “Metroid,” or a steppers version of the classic middle school dance floor filler "Popcorn." Either way you can't lose.
Vapors will be available via ANTI early September.
