New Kid Cudi Video Emerges

Kid Cudi delivers 'I Poke Her Face' but will miss Grammy consideration.

Using perhaps my favorite Kid Cudi track, a video for “I Poke Her Face” has emerged to emit some Cudi hype before Man on the Moon: the End of Day launches August 25th. Wait, did I type August 25th? Curse my addled brain, I meant September 15th, silly me.

Do you know what this change means aside from the album coming out three weeks later? It means that kid from Cleveland will miss the deadline for this year’s Grammys for his already finished album. Cudi can’t be happy, because that means he has to go up against Jay-Z. And having an album come out at the beginning of the Grammy consideration makes a recipe for forgetfulness. Word from Cudi is that some artwork for the album didn’t make a deadline. Sorry, Cudi.

This doesn’t mean that the video for “Poke Her Face” is bad, however. It is actually pretty classy for a track about…well…poking faces. Mr. West and Commonsense both make their respective appearances for their verses and deliver well. But, if you’re looking for a video better than “Day N Night,” this is not it. Just a classy, don’t forget about Cudi even though the album is delayed type of video.

Currently Kid Cudi is on tour with Asther Roth on an illustrious 19-stop tour entitled by Kanye West as “The Great Hangover Tour.” Let HEAVE provide you with “Excuse My Mood.” It’s short and sweet to the tune of Clipse’s “Kinda Like a Big Deal,” but with a Decepticon involved. Despite the Transformer involvement being so brief – it’s still probably more impressive the Transformers 2. Oh, and sorry about the Grammys, Kid.
