Arctic Monkeys Release First Single Off 'Humbug'
Arctic Monkeys explore a darker depth with 'Crying Lightening'.
A lot of critics think Arctic Monkeys are one of those bands that many Americans like because the British media over hyped them upon their release to the United States. Regardless of your opinion of Arctic Monkeys, they’ve found commercial success with a sound that isn’t so commercial friendly. For a while we assumed Arctic Monkeys had disappeared into buzz band oblivion, but alas - they are back with Humbug.
Humbug is set to release on August 25th, and the first single entitled “Crying Lightening” hit the UK radio waves on July 6th. Humbug explores the darkest of depths the band can go while still sounding like Arctic Monkeys. Alex Turner has been quoted by saying that he listened to a lot of Cream and Jimi Hendrix while writing the new album – so we will see how that translates into the rest of the Humbug. The single is surely catchy – have a listen below.
