Cursive at the Bottom Lounge
Cursive packs a punch at their Chicago show
I never expected to almost get decked in the face at a concert, but while taking pictures at Cursive's show at the Bottom Lounge May 9th I came pretty close. Touring in support of their March release Mama, I'm Swollen, Cursive stole the show with their rampant live show and lead singer Tim Kasher's uncanny ability to connect with every single member of the audience with one line. This probably explains why Cursive fans are so intimidating. Try to get in their space and I guarantee you a dirty look. But the warm intimacy that Cursive can create and destroy kept the crowd in a frenzy. "What Have I Done?" off of Mama, I'm Swollen had people singing along and even tearing up. Seeing Cursive is definitely an experience, an emotional rollercoaster ready to take you for an exhilerating and somewhat dangerous ride.
