The Hamiltonilzation Process Continues with Another Mixtape
Charles Hamilton Raps about Match.com and Chris Brown beating up Rihanna.
In light of all the Rihanna/Chris Brown noise comes a mixtape infused with plenty of sampling of the couple’s music from Charles Hamilton. The mixtape, entitled “Well Isn’t This Awkward” was made available for download last Friday on the net, and many tracks can be listened to on Hamilton’s blog. The release also influences the material of Hamilton’s lyrical musings, as it seems the tape comes from a Brooklyn rapper who thinks he is Sonic the Hedgehog (his songs are laced with popular Sega Game sound effects – he seems quite obsessed) and has songs from Bjork, Alice In Chains and Imogen Heap on his blog’s music player. Hamilton definitely draws upon a wide range influences for his creations. Charles exhibits exceptional wordplay and skill in his sampling with his most recent mixtape.
The track “Psycho Bitch” is particularly playful at the reported craziness within the Rihanna/Chris Brown relationship. Hamilton expresses his blatant dislike for Mr. Brown throughout the track (The hook involves the lyrics, “I don’t like your boyfriend”) while sampling Rihanna’s “Disturbia.” Hey, maybe in lieu of all the drama Charles will be the most suitable bachelor for RiRi. Other notable tracks include “Re-Anna” and a clever interlude entitled “Match.com (Commercial Break).” If you are looking for more CH, his older mixtapes can be downloaded here. All the tapes are part of a concept that Charles calls “The Hamiltonization Process” that are hopefully leading to a well constructed LP sometime soon.
