We've Got You Covered

The Boy Least Likely To Takes on George Michael – and we guess Limp Bizkit.

I know of three versions of “Faith” that exist, and one of them is the original by George Michael.  I remember liking the original version by Michael, but only for the music video. I came to find out (while in the process of writing this) that my fundamental reasoning for liking the song isn’t even real.  I thought I liked “Faith” because the video had legs and arms dancing around without being attached to any sort of body. Adult me thinks that child me really enjoyed that, but it turns out that the video I’m thinking of was actually “Wild Wild West” by the band The Escape Club.  This isn’t entirely relevant to the song “Faith” (actually, not at all), but I feel that you should know that my memory of the original version of this song is jaded at best.

The most famous “Faith” is the utterly unforgettable (as much as we try) version by Limp Bizkit, which came out around 1997.  Being, more than likely, the first person to Google Limp Bizkit in five years – I can tell you that their version became famous because of a movie called “Very Bad Things.”  It also only took around ten minutes to arrange, which is eight and a half minutes longer than “Nookie” took. Limp Bizkit’s superstardom lasted quite a few years because of their cover, and the memory of The Family Values Tour will live in the hearts of our red Yankee hats forever.

And thus comes the third version.  The Boy Least Likely To are a duo from England who can be classified as indie pop, but throw in a little country twang with some bells and banjos.  A very lighthearted sound, The Boy Least Likely To sounds like the type of music your brain would make when you went down your favorite slide as a six year old.
