Repressed Video

Some videos should just go away, but we don't let them.

Let me just lay it right out there: This is, hands down, the most RIDICULOUS video I have ever seen.

Imagine being in a loud, obnoxious yuppie bar, surrounded by massive screens playing random music videos that probably shouldn't see the light of day (think Skee-Lo's "I Wish" and Coolio's stay-in-school anthem "Gangsta's Paradise"). Now, imagine having every single one of those screens displaying the video for "Call On Me" by Eric Prydz, featuring a sample of "Valerie" by Steve Winwood. And, finally, imagine having a booth full of 30-something women drunkenly squealing and shrieking with glee throughout the song. It was sensory overload, in easily the worst way possible. This happened to me about a month ago.

I mean, the video starts out innocent enough. "Oh yeah, I remember that one song. Steve Winwood, right? Yeah, my dad's a big fan." And then the thrusting began. I was not sure if I should be laughing, mortified, or feeling slightly out of touch for having never seen this video before. I consider myself a connoisseur of crappy music, so I was more confused that I hadn't been privy to such a nugget of glory than anything else.

I used to be a fitness instructor, and let me tell you, this video is a far cry from the Splash Dance classes I used to teach for senior citizens. For starters, I did not wear anything that could potentially floss my nether regions, nor did I devote entire classes to perfecting the pelvis thrust (although we did do "hydrants," the not-so-sexy leg lifts in the video. Get it? Hydrants? Because dogs pee on hydrants. Not so much?...Okay.)

Enjoy the video below. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some pelvic thrusting to do.
